Usually the younger ones will hit an age where they are finishing school and have other ideas about where they want to study and what they want to do. It's maybe smart in some cases to branch out instead of just stay in the entertainment industry until it spits them out, by the time it does you probably can't do anything but crappy TV panel jobs or get married to somebody with money.
Some girls are just career idols and some think they can do other things better to get out...

...before you get stuck in the whole idol thing where you aren't able to do other things with your life like study and have a different career. Some girls get into the idol industry because it's the easiest way into show business and feel it can help them attain other goals like being an actress or model etc.
