What I do.

Hey everyone!
Today was so nice out! Beautiful blue sky, sunny, slight breeze....perfect day for TENNIS!! YAAY!!!!
Too bad I had to work again XD

Well since I'm already on the topic of work I suppose I'll let you all know what I do.
I work at a place called Nobbies. It's a party SUPERstore where you can find anything and everything you could ever imagine for a party.
If you want a LUAU party we've got it all! Plates, napkins, hula skirts, wall decorations, leis, etc. etc. You name it, we got it.
How bout a baby shower? Don't worry bout it! We got your back!! There are It's a Girl or Boy themes with a plate line or if you didn't know what it's gonna be yet, then we have a plate line for that too. See? No problem!! XD
Getting married? OMG! Congratualtions!! Come to Nobbies and we'll hook you up with some invitations. It's GREAT!!
Now the part where I come in.
In the store, the employees are divided into 5 departments: Customer Service, Party & Paper, Seasonal, Wedding, and Balloons.
I'm what they like to call a "Party Pro". :)
This pretty much means that I'm Sensei of my department.
Can you guess which department that is?
If not then, oh well...it's the Balloon department. :)
I can do just about anything when it comes to balloons.

Any suggestions on something I should try to make? :)

Here's a little taste of my work environment:

We also imprint on napkins, but I didn't get a picture of that.
It seems like a pretty simple and easy job doesn't it? Well, you're right....but there are some times when it can be stressful.
If you don't know have the right skills or knowledge about the balloons then it can be pretty difficult.
For example, we have our on and off seasons year round. Our super ON season is no doubt graduation season.
You wouldn't believe how some parents go all out for their kids graduation parties. I mean they go ALL out!
During the months of May and June, the average number of balloons we blow up is about 1500 per DAY.
For those who work in the balloon department, some come into work at around 4am just to do preorders for the customers who ordered their balloons ahead of time. So by the time we open that day, we have an ocean of balloons throughout the store. Then we have the walk-ins.... XD
The walk-in customers for graduation season are the craziest people I have ever come across! If you are like 30 seconds late getting their balloons done in the time limit you give them, they will read you to the dirt!! "I was told you'd have it done by 'this time'" "I want a discount because I've been waiting forever" XD and blah blah blah blah BLAH!!
So if you don't know the right skills to get dem balloons done on time, then you will probably end up on the floor, curled up in a ball and sucking your thumb, cuz some people can be pretty cruel. XD

We are trained to do about 15 balloons in about 5 minutes.
The whole process is like this:
First, if it's a latex balloon then you need to add hi-float (a liquid latex to help the balloon last longer) to it before you blow it up. Once you've got that done you blow up the balloon with helium to it's approximate size. There's about 9 or 10 different sized balloons that you have to memorize. Once you've blown it up, you tie the balloon shut, then tie a ribbon on and your good to go :)
Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy.
There's so many things you can do with balloons.

Ah~ I'm gonna stop talking about work now.
AFTER work, though, I went to World Market. You all know what that is right?

That juice was super good!! It tasted like fruit roll ups!

Well, I bought this little wafer cookie and it was the most delicious piece of round cake I've ever come across.
