Making videos out of video clips for dummies....I mean, me!!!

Posted by michikodesu, 07 May 2015 · 493 views

I have always thought of myself as technically savvy.....but as of late, I'm having problems just posting a stinkin' youtube video on the forums. It worked for me before, why isn't it working now?? :c11:

Anyway, I was watching a few videos on "Top 10 _______ anime choices" or whathaveyou. And I was thinking, I would love to do one of those videos.....but, I just don't know how. I mean, I really don't know how. I've tried to google it; but I get all kinds of weird choices. I just want a straight forward answer to these questions:

Is there a program that I need to use and if so, which one is the best?

Will said program help me rip my stuff off of the dvd that I will get it from or would I need a separate program for that?

Is there more to this or is it pretty simple?.........I'm thinking it's pretty complicated; but I could be wrong.

Okay, all you video savvy people, help a fellow H!P fan out!!! PLEASE!!!!

It depends how much control you want to have over how the video looks, and how much money you want to spend.

Windows Movie Maker has the bare minimum of features, but it's free. On the other hand, some professional software like Adobe Creative Suite or Sony Vegas are incredibly powerful video editing suites which can make for very professional-looking videos, but such software tends to be fairly expensive.

Those aren't the only options, but are the most common ones. Also, if for whatever reason you're on a Macintosh, then iMovie and Final Cut Pro are also options.

Most video editing software won't allow you to rip straight from the DVD, however, so you'd need some ripping/encoding software like handbrake or megui.
