Risako's and Ai's cover is sung lightly and little use of power makes it have a sad atmosphere which is perfect. Though they ended their notes a bit too quickly for my liking.

Captain's cover is nice and makes use of her pretty vocals. It's quite relaxing to listen too.

Daasaku's cover has power and technique but it lacks emotion and presence in my perspective.

Airi's cover shows power, emotion and good singing technique. Her breathing is a bit of a problem though.

In the end, I pick Airi's because seeing her facial expressions and hearing her sad voice does it for me. It's as if she experienced a heart break or something...
Anyways, who do you pick?

I think all of them bring their own thing to the song, no one ruins it. But my favourite version (cover-wise) is Risako. Ai is a close second. They both invoke emotion, at least for me.

Aya's It's pretty much impossible to outdo her.

If I had to pick one of the above girls, though, I'd say Ai-chan.

LinLin killed it, I don't care what anyone says. Her version will always be my favorite. Captain gets #2. Not because it was total perfection, but because never in my life would I ever think that she would attempt to tackle a song like 'dearest'. She did a good job, too.

Ayaya is the best > Ai-chan (she was holding bck due to her throat surgery..but damnshe still sounded good.) > Linlin( clearly, she had a good voice but somethings missing....> Saki ( dont usually hear captain sing as always ...but she really did a great job) > Airi ( im surprise i put Airi in the last line but ...she made the song a little too sad..i dont know. she can do so much better but yeah. ) > Sakura (This little musume is still on the way to the top vocalist ..but she already can sing like that ) > Risako (good , but a little nasally-pitch )
