H!P Idols that have been called fat at one time or the other

We see this like everyday in a thread here on H!O. Maybe it has lost it's negative connection thanks to Zukki who plays her chubby role well. Well... the girls' weight still gives off some of the most interesting, embarassing and the saddest discussions that you can see. Here on H!O people are a bit restrained to call a girl "fat" - especially in every negative aspect - since a lot of fans get angry by that. But "fat" idols belong to H!P's history just as much as horrible costumes, weird dances and catchy tunes. Let's have a look.
*I'm not claiming that this list is complete and flawless.



Sudou Maasa.
I think the picture says it all about Maasa's situation: She can be super fit, but the yo-yo-effect hits her even harder. Looking through the internet, she seems to be the (anonymous) fans' favourite subject in "fat-talking" - more popular than Zukki, Risako or Yossy. Maybe it's because she never found a way to got rid of her extra meat for a longer time (like Yossy), because she hasn't been put in the role of the "hot chubby" (like Risako) and maybe because it's still a taboo to talk about her weight (unlike Zukki).



Yoshizawa Hitomi.
Of course, an "in-motion" picture is always unflattering, but here we can see it in the best way. At some point of her career, Yossy was very chubby. Unlike others, she was lucky enough to find a place in comedy and her generation mates (Kago Ai, for example) weren't the skinniest idols either. In fact, when she lost her weight, a lot of people were worried that she got an eating disorder:



Well, what we do know is that Yossy became a sports-fanatic.



Suzuki Kanon.
One of the more recent examples. We all know how much fun was made of Zukki around the time of One.Two.Three - it was kind of the climax of her fat-discussions. Ever since, the discussions didn't subside. However, unlike other H!P girls, Zukki used this to make herself more popular. She became known as the chubby one (some fans even claim they became fans because they saw her fat pictures from One.Two.Three) and built a character around it.
Recently, she herself said that she wants to "graduate" from the chubby image at one point of her career. I think it's understandable, especially if you're working in an industry that's obsessed with being slim.


Abe Natsumi.
An example that even front girls aren't save from fat-discussions. It might be important to note that Abe confirmed that she had an eating disorder.



Ishikawa Rika.
People usually didn't say that she was super fat, but some often nitpicked on a little belly and, more prominently, a chubby face. (Of course, this picture also shows a bad choice of dress.)



Kago Ai.
Aibon has been one of the more popular cases. Unfortunately for her, her chubby time was arount the prime time of Morning Musume, even newspapers badmouthed her weight. For a girl in her early teens, it must have been quite hard to live with this.



Ogawa Makoto.
Like Yossy, Makoto faded into the comedic background.



Kusumi Koharu.
We know Koharu as the ever smiling, currently model that took a lot of care of herself (diet, skin products, etc). How come she appears in a list like this? The answer is in the two pictures above. As far as I know talks about Koharu being thick were rather short-lived, but they existed.



Sugaya Risako.
Another somewhat famous example. Risako did have a time where she looked chubbier (and while she's not thin stick now, she lost quite some weight). However, she also has been put in the role of a more "erotic" chubby (by fans, not by management - and of course, not by all fans).



Nakajima Saki.
Following the costume for THE POWER, people have been talking about Nakasaki having become fat. Everything mastering management find a way to cover this up and put her into the biggest costume out of all 5 versions. The Kanashiki Heaven costume wasn't much better.



Okai Chisato.
Chisato has been known as the chubby one in °C-ute for quite some time. Next to Maimi's abs and Airi's slim body it's kind of hard if you're a bit rounder.



Fukuda Kanon.
Those who follow Wota in Translation might have read a newer thread about 2ch talking about Kanon's "meat". She herself at least had a time in which she has been obsessed with dieting and fasting.


Some more examples, without pictures:

• JunJun, being the one having to wear the chubby-clothes during Platinum Era.
• Mano Erina, though rather after her graduation from H!P and with a new photobook/gravure in a magazine with some people commenting on her having "the butt of a 30-something old woman").
• Konno Asami, though rather through her chubby cheeks. Some years after her graduation there was a report about her getting chubby, too.
• Takeuchi Akari, also with chubby cheeks. People also said she was the "meatiest", when they saw her in the costume for Mystery Night.

There are some more, but often with members in the past and without good pictures and sources.
I hope you don't think I'm picking on them, I'm just pointing out that fat-calling isn't something new and unique in Hello! Project.
