How I got a close friend of mine to like Juice=Juice

We all know that Juice=Juice released their single "Wonderful World/Ca Va Ca Va" on 4/8/15. That single of course features a rather French themed song, titled Ca Va Ca Va.

My close friend Claire, who is not a member here, loves anything with France. Mainly from a certain anime. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Anyway, she loves French things, as well as the country, etc. When I heard Ca Va Ca Va, I just had to share it with her.

So, I first told her about it one day when we were together. I told her that there was a JPop group I love and follow, and they are releasing a new single soon (This was last month I told her). I told her it was French-based, and that it was called Ca Va Ca Va. She smiled and laughed. I then told her that I would share with her the (then) radio rip of the song. And so I did. She told me she had it on repeat a lot, and loved it. I then told her that it would be a while before the MV came out, and she said she was willing to wait.

Once it came out, I immediately shared it with her. I first told her that "I expect there to be flowers everywhere, lots of roses, along with an Eiffel Tower statue, berets, baguettes, etc". To my surprise there were actually a few things in the MV that I mentioned!!

So, she watched it. She said she loved it, and kept watching it over and over. She also laughed how I was correct at a few things.

I wanted to explain to her the history of Juice=Juice, so I sent her a picture explaining the girl's names with member colors, and explained that they have been a group for 2 years, and that there was one more member, but she didn't debut with them (which still makes me sad...). She told me she wasn't used to names of the girls, which was okay. I didn't mind it!

A few days later, she sends me a message saying "Great, now you've got me listening to all the Juice=Juice songs! All your fault! just kidding!". Which, everything is always my fault (I got her into the anime Hetalia, I got her into going to Dairy Queen, and I got her into listening to clariS. Now Juice=Juice too! )

I asked her if she had a favorite member, or if she liked them all. She said "I don't know about those kinds of things haha this is my first time I've heard the songs by seeing the music videos" and went on to compliment that the way they dance is very cool. She also said that it's nice to have subtitles at the bottom too.

Like us, she states how their indies songs are so different from current songs. But she likes the current songs haha She praised how there were different themes (tango, flamenco, French, etc) and when I mentioned that they have had no albums yet, she was very surprised. "That's just seems weird because they seem so popular" is what she said.

Then I came up with my idea of the first album name (drum roll please): 1st Shake Up



I think it's great, actually

And then she texted me today saying that the songs are available. Which is good, because I worried that it would be a partial album on iTunes. I'm glad it isn't, for her sake!!


Well, it looks like I did my job. I was able to get a friend into music I like. It might take her awhile to get used to the concept of "idols", which I need to explain to her the concept. But I hope to gradually move into the other H!P acts as well.
