Thoughts singles 2014 H!P Hello! Project
So, since March has been here for awhile, I've decided to give my opinions on the singles/DVD singles of 2014, this time from H!P's side of Japan
Juice=Juice
I start with Juice=Juice because their single will be released in 2 days.
Title: Hadoka no Hadoka no Hadoka no KISS/Are Kore Shitai!
Song: I thought the 3x "Hadoka no" would be annoying, to be honest. But somehow, it works. I was excited to hear that it would have a Latin feel to it -Iroppoi Jirettai came to mind immediately. I'm quite impressed by the sound of this song. Again we see Karin, Sayuki, and Tomoko as dominant voices. That's not necessarily bad. All 3 have different power to their voices, and Tomo's "woah" line gets me every time
The instrumentals and the voices compliment each other very well. I'm happy with the song. Are Kore Shitai! is a cute song. This song compliments Akari and Yuka, who have sweeter voices. I was surprised with the english translation at first, but when the song came out and it was pretty much a college student type of song, hey, that fits my life now!! Everyone does sound great. I enjoy cute songs like this. Thumbs up from me

Oh, the line with the cleavage...
...yeah, that's all I gotta say. I think Tsunku's "come on!" line is cute too, despite the problems the man is going through now.
Costume: I loooove the costumes for Hadoka no 3x Kiss!! I was hoping for something flamenco-style. People complain of Akari's pants. If she doesn't want to show off her upper legs, that's not a problem. It's what she wants. Besides, she stands out. She's a great young lady with potential to spread her wings. Let her be
Are Kore's costumes were colorful,something to expect of the type of single, but still nice.
CD Design: Hands down - favorite version is LE C. Love the heart design!!
MV: I don't have nothing big to complain about here. Are Kore's lighting is a little weird, but it gives the atmosphere a soft touch, like the song. The lights behind the crates (is it crates?) in Hadoka no 3x KISS is cool. I like the little room in that MV.
Overall: It's a pleasant, fresh single. Juice=Juice's songs always impress me. Overall, 8 out of 10
S/mileage
S/mileage releases next month, so that's a new quarter of 2014. So a full review of S/mileage's single will be in June.
Berryz Koubou
Title: Otona na no yo!/ 1-Oku 3-Zenman Sou Diet Oukoku
Song: Otona seems pretty average Berryz to me. The "I know" lines stick in my head. But the girls sound great nonetheless. I seem to favor Diet more that Otona. Diet is pretty repetitive in various lines. It's addicting to hear. I don't seem to mind the repetition.
Costume:The ones in Otona are random, to be honest. None are really unflattering, imo. Risako looks old, but it suits her (if that sounds bad?) Miyabi looks weird with that hair, though. Captain looks best. In Diet, I like the futuristic look. It brings the idea of the future in terms of diet, if you know what I mean. Like, what is the future going to be with diet-minded people sort of thing. Captain is cute in her twin tails. I don't think Momochi had her pigtails. Yessss.
CD Design:My favorite is LE B. Such pretty blue!
MV: I spy with my little eye something in Otona's MV...oh! The lights
those long lights seem to be reoccurring everywhere in H!P's MV's. lol The mannequin parts are cool, imo. In Diet, sure it's a boxed room. But it's a pretty boxed room. I like the lighting and all that. Nothing too big to complain about.
Overall: It's a typical Berryz single, to be honest. I liked previous one much better, but yet I can't complain too much with this one. The message of Diet is a big one. So, 7 out of 10
C-ute
Title: Kokoro no Sakebi wo Uta ni Shitemita/Love Take it All
Song: The girls sound amazing, as usual. I say this for both songs. Kokoro has a nice instrumental. Love's has the girls singing with powerful voices, and big notes. Oh, simply put, Mai sounds amazing in both songs. Airi sounds of course amazing as usual. I like how Chisato sounds in Kokoro - much power.
Costume: The casual clothes in Kokoro fit the girls really well. I like how H!P has been doing that; hopefully it's not random clothing but something to reflect the girl's personal style. Love's costumes remind me of those of that one album with Midnight Temptation...can't remember the name of that album now. But I'm reminded of that. The girls do have nice legs. I'm jealous...
CD Design: LE A seems best to me. It shows great pics of the girls. I don't like the random yellow and black, and the red is weird too, with the background the girls are standing in front of.
MV: Nothing to complain about with Kokoro's MV. The style is great, the effects are great. Love it. Also, the mannequin shop scenes are creative. Love's, I have to say first, love the lighting. Especially the colored lighting. The dance...umm...
. I know, they are all much older than when they started. And they are all beautiful girls. But I don't like the constant hip movements and the body touching. Am I complaining of how they dance? No, their dancing is sharp, regardless of the moves. They are amazing. I just think the overly sexual moves are used too much recently.
Overall: Overall, love this single. 9 out of 10
Morning Musume. '14
Title: Egao no Kimi wa Taiyou sa/ Kimi no Kawari wa Iyashinai/What is LOVE?
Song: People keep complaining that Egao was not a good song. Okay, so the pace is much slower and the words are crammed. So? I love it. The lyrics are great, and it's a change of pace. And besides Tsunku's backup voices with the girls singing, the girls sing naturally. I think that's great. Kimi no Kawari is fierce. I find it my favorite song on this single. The "Nippon" part is addicting, of course. Riho/Sakura lines are great too. What is LOVE? is a great song. Of course we knew about it before, but I love singing it. People often complain of the autotune. Not much is being used, tbh.
Costume: Egao's white costumes are pretty. I wish I had one!! Kimi no Kawari's contrast with the red, and it looks sporty, like Olympic training outfits. Very fitting. What is Love's is the concert costume. Not bad.
CD Design: RE A, C, and D. Lol I can't help it. So pretty.
MV: Idk why Egao's has so less view from the others-so well done! Kimi no Kawari's - a little plain, but it gets it done. Like, I think one said it was supposed to be the red in Japan's flag? I give points to that. What is Love? - people hate the concert idea. I like it. Sayu said she wanted fans in the video, and what cheap way to do it than with a concert version? Not too bad.
Overall: Very nice single. I compare it to Wakuteka Take a Chance after OTT's big turn out. This was after Wagamama/Ai no Gundan turnout, which is okay. It still sold well. So, 8 out of 10.
Kenshuusei:
Song: Oheso no Kuni Kara Konnichiwa/ Ten Made Nobore!
Song: Oheso is cute. I like the solos for some of the girls. That title though Ten Made Nobore redue is nice. I'm glad 20th gen is able to make it in there. Miss Taguchi though...
Costume: It's the same for both, but with a green necklace for Oheso. Eh. Okay.
CD Design: Well, since it's a DVD, and not a single. But still, I'm glad all the girls got on it.
MV: I'm glad Ten Made Nobore! got a background instead of white nothingness. Yay! And the cute trees in Oheso. Hehe I like them.
Overall: I'm happy to see Kenshuusei improving. Everything is so cute. So, 7 out of 10.
I've been quite satisfied with the singles so far this year. Can't what to see what else is in store for 2014!!

S/mileage releases next month, so that's a new quarter of 2014. So a full review of S/mileage's single will be in June.
Berryz Koubou
Title: Otona na no yo!/ 1-Oku 3-Zenman Sou Diet Oukoku
